Decking

What is the right choice?

The hardscape area around your swimming pool is called a surround, deck, or decking, even though it isn’t always made of wood or composite, like traditional outdoor decks which we most often associate the words. Traditionally, most in-ground swimming pool decks are made of concrete. Other materials, like pavers and brick, are also popular choices.

Pool decks and paved surfaces in the yard such as paths, patios, or steps are functional landscaping elements, adding usable space, creating a smooth transition from one area to another, providing drainage, and covering bare dirt.

When it is near or surrounds a pool or spa, decking creates a frame while providing a safe path around its edge. If backyard space allows, the deck can be enlarged to accommodate poolside furniture for relaxing or dining.

Spray Deck

Commonly know as “cool deck” classic spray texture is a hand-trowel textured applied to any concrete surface after the concrete has been correctly prepared for application. Depending on the condition of the concrete, the amount of concrete to coat, pattern, and color effects, classic spray texture can be the most cost-effective way of enhancing your concrete around a pool.

Stamped Overlay

Stamp overlay is a luxurious coating done to give a more natural look to concrete. The overlay is a thin coating that goes over existing concrete between 1/16”-1/4” thick depending on the concrete the overlay is being applied onto. Utilizing the squeegee coat, thin stamp mats, patterns, stains, and clear seals the overlay is a cost-effective way of enhancing your existing concrete.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete, is concrete that replicates stones like textures such as slate, flagstone, tile, brick and can even represent wood texture. Ideal for pool decks, driveways, entries, courtyards, and patios, stamped concrete is the perfect outdoor paving choice.

Recently, stamped concrete has become on of the most popular choices for many homeowners because it offers a wide range of options when it comes to diffrent pattern and colors. Another factor contributing to its popularity is the cost effectiveness. The cost of stamped or imprinted concrete is often considerably lower than the materials it is a substitute for.
